Mondays: Partner Dancing
7-8: The Evolution of Dance – Famous Cool Moves – Partner Edition
Pre-requisite: some dance training / partner dance experience
Deep learning. Skills and moves from a variety of genres* that can be adapted to many styles of music, including today’s hits.
* Swing, Salsa, Two-Step, Waltz, Tango, Rumba, Samba, Bachata, Blues, Polka, Freestyle …
Each style has qualities that make it very different from the others, and yet many skills cross over, meaning you don’t need to limit yourself to one or two styles – learning these skills and moves will help you have more clarity and more fun on the dance floor, whatever music is playing.
Learn a routine that integrates the complete set. We will adapt the same routine to a variety of songs.
8pm: Students’ Choice:
Focus on one style. Chosen by students the week before. May be the same style every week. Let your wishes be known.
Wednesdays: Creative Workout + Group Dances
6-7: Beginner Partner Dancing – Variety Pack
7-8: Group Dances: Salsa Rueda, Swing Rueda, Square Dance, Spontaneous Group Dance
8-9: Creative Workout. Floor Flow + Slow Flow Capoeira + Embodied Dynamic Sacred Geometry (Playing with Physics) + Contact Improv + Contemporary Breakdance.
9-10: Performance Troupe – contemporary-plus. Audition: Oct 23.
2nd Friday most months:
(November, December, January, February, May, June)
6-7: Invented Sports + Party Games
7-8: The Evolution of Dance – Famous Cool Moves – Solo Edition
8-9: Partner Dance – each month different focus
9-10:30: Dance Night in Orangeville. Not a class. Dance as you wish. Solo/Partner/Group. Change partners or stay with one. A variety of musical styles. Requests welcome.
